Eikei University of Hiroshima is a prefectural university located in the center of Hiroshima, a city of international peace culture.
Located about 10 minutes on foot from the main train station, JR Hiroshima Station, the campus is highly convenient for commuting and is close to shopping facilities, hospitals, banks, and more.
Students with diverse cultural backgrounds and different sets of values gather to learn together for an intensive four years on campus.
Students learn life lessons through all aspects of their daily lives. This is campus life at Eikei University of Hiroshima.

Campus Map and Facilities

Project Workspace 1F

This space is the "face" of Eikei University of Hiroshima. Conceived as a shared venue for creating new social value, the space stimulates the creative power to generate new things and embodies a part of the Social System Design. The space includes a Seminar Area for hosting seminars, workshops, and other events, and a Community Area for exchanges between students and various local stakeholders such as corporations and local government officials.

Career Design Office 14F

Our university also features a career design office designed to provide comprehensive support for job hunting.
At our career design office, you will receive guidance on interview techniques, assistance with writing essential documents, and personalized consulting services delivered by our team of experts.
Additionally, the career design office offeres valuable resources and information to keep you updated on job fairs, and networking opportunites.
We forster a supportive environment that encourages your personal growth.

  • Community Commons 1F

    This is kept wide open as a place of exchange between students and community members. Various events are held here for interacting with many different members of the community, from children to adults. Students have installed a street piano here as the "EIKEI PIANO PROJECT", and events planned by students will be held here in 2023 as well.

  • Library 2F

    The library stocks books in Japanese and English to offer courses in both languages. Books in a wide variety of fields can be borrowed by interlibrary loan from the libraries at the Prefectural University of Hiroshima. The reading space is equipped with sofas in addition to desks and chairs.

  • Port 3F-7F

    40 students form a group called a "port" and 2 or 3 faculty members (different fields of expertise) are assigned to support those students. The offices of the faulty members and the rooms where the students stay are located next to one another to encourage daily communication. Students can easily consult faculty members on selecting courses, their progress, planning their learning schedule, and so on.

  • Project-Based Learning Room(PBL Room) 3F

    There are multiple group working spaces with movable desks, chairs, and whiteboards, providing an environment for group study even outside of class. With projectors and screens also available, these spaces can also be used for student presentations.

  • International Dormitory 9F-13F

    Study and life are combined at the dormitory at Eikei University of Hiroshima. It is a place for practical education where students can learn about different cultures and improve their independence by encountering values based on diverse backgrounds while also improving their understanding of the world through living with other Japanese and international students.

  • Learning Commons 14F

    With whiteboards and meeting tables for group work and spaces for individual study, this self-study space accommodates a variety of learning methods.

  • English Lounge 14F

    With English-language news always playing and overseas magazines available, students will have opportunities to use English outside of class. Information about the home countries of our international students as well as information about living in Hiroshima is on display to facilitate more interaction between students.

  • EUH Cafeteria 15F

    The cafeteria opened in November 2023.
    The meals served in the EUH Cafeteria include a general menu as well as a menu for multinational students.
    For the time being, it is available only for on-campus users.

  • Eikei Top 15F

    The top floor (15F) of the building has a panoramic view of Hiroshima. Equipped with Internet access, tables, desks and chairs, the space can accommodate a range of uses.

International dormitory

Students learn to coexist with different cultures through their daily lives!
Study and life are combined in our international dormitory.

Study and life are combined in the international dormitory at Eikei University of Hiroshima. It is a place for practical education where students can learn about different cultures and improve their independence by encountering different values based on diverse backgrounds. Students can also improve their understanding of the world by living with students from around Japan and the world.

Furnishings
Every room is equipped with air-conditioning, desks and chairs, beds, and a bathroom/toilet.
A basic kitchen allows for cooking simple meals. (There is no meal service.)

What kind of place is Hiroshima?

The campus of Eikei University of Hiroshima is located in the center of Hiroshima, an international city of peace and culture.
Hiroshima, whose population is about 1.2 million, is a city in the Chugoku region in the western part of Japan, and it is known as the place where the first atomic bomb in human history was dropped.
Many tourists from within Japan and abroad come to see the two world heritage sites in the prefecture and the beautiful views of the Seto Inland Sea with its approximately 140 floating islands. Hiroshima has been truly developing into an international city of peace and culture.

  • Peace Memorial Park
    A focal point for prayers for world peace

    Around the park are many facilities to pray for world peace. The Atomic Bomb Dome is the most symbolic building in Hiroshima City, standing only meters away from the hypocenter of the atomic bomb blast. It has become a beacon for the world’s prayers for peace and for an end to nuclear weapons

  • Itsukushima Shrine
    A shrine built on top of the water

    Itsukushima Shrine is one of the most significant shrines in Japan and is the only shrine in the world built on top of the water. The view of Itsukushima Shrine has long been considered one of the three finest views in Japan.

  • The world-class beauty of the Seto Inland Sea

    Facing the Seto Inland Sea, the largest inland sea in Japan, the scenery of the islands and the calm surface of the waves is truly spectacular.
    Other attractions include scenic spots selected among Japan's 100 scenic spots, historic port towns, and a rich townscape surrounded by the sea and mountains.

The Eikei University of Hiroshima campus is a 10-minute walk from the main train station, JR Hiroshima Station, making it convenient for commuting to school. It is also close to shopping facilities, hospitals, and banks. Although located in the city center, the campus is quiet and comfortable.

  • JR Hiroshima Station

    A 10-minute walk from the city’s main train station, JR Hiroshima Station. The Shinkansen bullet train, including Nozomi express services, offers extremely convenient access to other major cities such as Osaka and Fukuoka.

  • Citywide trains (Streetcars)

    Streetcars run throughout the city of Hiroshima, offering convenient access wherever you go. These are recommended for shopping and sightseeing.

  • Hiroshima Bus Center

    One of the largest bus terminals in West Japan and the hub for the Hiroshima bus network, with intercity highway buses, inter-prefectural highway buses, airport buses, suburban buses, and more.

  • The Hiroshima Station area

    You can find plenty of local souvenirs and food within the Hiroshima Station building! Electronics stores, department stores, and restaurants are also available around the station.

  • The Hondori area

    The streets of the Hondori area are lined with fashionable shops. This is a popular shopping area in Hiroshima, with boutique shops, department stores, and more.

  • The Honkawa Tokaichi area

    A short walk from the Peace Memorial Park, this area has chic variety shops and cafes, and new shops continue to open nearby.

  • Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum

    This museum has a total of nearly 5,000 pieces, especially modern Western and Japanese paintings, as well as Japanese and Asian crafts.

  • Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art

    This modern art museum features an impressive and innovative exterior design. Contemporary arts from Japan and other countries are on exhibit here.

  • Hiroshima Museum of Art

    This museum houses modern European masterpieces and Japanese modern art. The collection of Impressionist works is one of the greatest in Japan.

Support professional sports teams with passionate fans!

  • Mazda Stadium Hiroshima

    This is the home of the local professional baseball team, the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. It is only a 10-minute walk from Hiroshima Station!

  • Edion Peace Wing Hiroshima (Hiroshima Soccer Stadium)

    The home stadium of the local professional soccer teams, Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Sanfrecce Hiroshima Regina, is a 15-minute walk from Eikei University of Hiroshima.

  • Hiroshima Prefectural Sports Center

    This sports facility was designed to blend in with the landscape of the park. A variety of events are held here, including sports competitions, concerts, and various shows.
