Q&A about Entrance Examination

About Eligibility and Application Requirements

I am expected to pass an exam recognized as a university entrance qualification outside of Japan. Which selection process can I apply for?

If the exam is recognized in your country, you may be eligible for the Integrated Selection and Selection of International Students. Please contact the Admissions Office to confirm the eligibility and application requirements.

I have only received 11 years of school education outside of Japan. What should I do?

Please contact the Admissions Office to confirm your eligibility and application requirements.

Are there a specific selection category for returnee students?

We accept applications from returnee students for Integrated Selection. The selection process will take into account the educational experience gained outside Japan.

Among the accepted English proficiency tests, which one is the most advantageous? If I have multiple score certificates, such as TOEFL and EIKEN, can I submit both?

There is no advantage or disadvantage based on the type of test. While submitting one score or grade certificate, you may submit multiple score certificates, if you wish.

I am a native English speaker. Or, I have completed high school courses in English outside of Japan. Is it necessary to submit scores from English proficiency certifications or official test scores?

Regardless of the applicant’s nationality or native language, if the applicant has completed the secondary education curriculum in English (in principle, the language of instruction for all subjects must be English), the applicant may submit a transcript or other document issued by the high school or equivalent institution stating this fact, or a separate certificate issued by the high school or equivalent institution (in any format), in lieu of an English proficiency certificates or official test score. In such cases, submission of English proficiency test scores is not required. For details on submission methods, please contact the Admissions Office by email.

How to apply

Is the application method online only? Where can I access the Online Application and Enrollment Procedures Website?

Applications are accepted through our university’s dedicated Online Application and Enrollment Procedure website. You will be able to access the site from our university’s website on the application start date for each selection category.

About application documents

I only have transcripts written in languages other than Japanese or English. What should I do?

Please submit a Japanese or English translation of your official transcripts. If this is not possible due to unavoidable circumstances, please contact the Admissions Office.

I only have one original copy of my degree certificate or transcript, and I cannot get a replacement. What should I do?

For documents that are issued in only one original copy, please submit a document certifying that it is a true copy of the original, issued by the school you graduated from. If this is not possible due to unavoidable circumstances, please contact the Admissions Office.

Can I see past exam questions for short essays and group discussion topics?

Past Entrance Exam Questions are posted on this page.

Can I use external resources when preparing application documents or essays?

Application documents and essays must be prepared by the applicant themselves. During the preparation process, you may use any external resources (such as referencing literature, guidance from high school teachers, or online resources including generative AI like ChatGPT). However, if there are specific instructions regarding references in the essay, please follow them accurately. Please note that if it is determined that the application documents or essays were not created by the applicant themselves, or if there is evidence of plagiarism, other forms of academic dishonesty, or false statements, this may result in a reduction in evaluation or disqualification.
